The 19th edition of Festival Mundial will be held in Tilburg’s Leijpark. The artistic programming and original surprises give a refreshing mix of traditional and modern entertainment. Under the name of Music Beats Poverty, the theme of Festival Mundial 2006 will be the Millennium Development Objectives. The power of culture and its contribution to development will be central!

De 19e editie van Festival Mundial in het Tilburgse Leijpark.
Festival Mundial is een tweedaags muziek-, informatie-, en cultuurevenement van wereldformaat en is het grootste wereldmuziekfestival in Nederland. Onder de term Music Beats Poverty staat Festival Mundial 2006 geheel in het teken van de Millennium Ontwikkelingsdoelen.Centraal staan de kracht van cultuur en de bijdrage van cultuur aan ontwikkeling!

Emmanuel Jal (Soedan) is één van de succesvolste Afrikaanse rappers van dit moment. Voormalig kindsoldaat uit Sudan, is tijdens zijn optreden bij Africa Calling/ Live 8 in Cornwall doorgebroken.
