Zweeds Koningspaar bezoekt Nederland.Aanleiding voor het bezoek is het feit dat Zweden precies 400 jaar eerder een verdrag sloot met de Staten-Generaal waarin onder andere bepaald werd dat de beide landen voortaan ambassadeurs zouden uitwisselen. Nederland werd daarmee het eerste land ter wereld waar Zweden een ambassade vestigde.

Swedish royal couple visits the Nederlands.The reason for the visit is the fact that Sweden is that exactly 400 years earlier a treaty was signed with the States General, which stated among other things that the two countries would share ambassadors .

Op de foto / On the photo: Koning Carl Gustaf arriveert bij het Rijksmuseum waar zij het schilderij De Samenzwering van de Bataven onder Claudius Civilis zullen bezichtigen. De Koninklijke Zweedse Academie voor Schone Kunsten heeft het grootste schilderij dat Rembrandt maakte uitgeleend.
