Koning Willem-Alexander opent nieuw station Rotterdam Centraal

Zijne Majesteit Koning Willem-Alexander opent donderdagmiddag 13 maart officieel het nieuwe treinstation Rotterdam Centraal.De nieuwbouw van het spoordeel, de stationshal en directe omgeving duurde in totaal 9 jaar en kostte ruim 657 miljoen euro.Meest opvallende onderdeel van de nieuwbouw is het forse, spiegelende puntdak van roestvrij staal dat in de richting van het centrum wijst.Het gebouw kreeg daarom de bijnaam 'station kapsalon'. De naam verwijst naar het bakje waarin een Rotterdamse snack wordt geserveerd.

His Majesty King Willem-Alexander opened Thursday afternoon March 13 officially the new Rotterdam Centraal.De railway station building cost more than 657 million euro.Most striking part of the new building is the large, reflective stainless steel gabled roof pointing towards the center.The building was therefore nicknamed 'Kapsalon'. The name refers to the container in which a Rotterdam snack is served.
