 The Vishnoi (Bishnois) are a community of nature worshippers in the state of Rajasthan.The sect was founded by Guru Jambheshwar (b. 1451) after a drought in marwar region of India. He had laid down 29 principles to be followed by the sect. Bish means 20 and noi means 9. Thus, Bishnoi translates as Twenty-niners. Further the Guru tild to worship lord Vishnu (Bishnu). Thus the sect called vishnoi or Bishnoi. Killing animals and felling trees were banned. One of his 29 principles says "JEEV DAYA PALNI, RUNKH LILA NAHI GHAVE" means protect trees and animals. That's why the trees and animals are considered to be sacred by the Bishnois.The Woman on the photo is 84 years old

Museum Martena<br />

In October 2003 the museum t Coopmanshûs in Franeker in possession of the oldest oaks cupboard of the Netherlands proved to be. The two door filing cabinet descends from approximately 1550, and has been made ofwood of for 1550, which comes from the Baltic states.The  Museum, " moved in 2006; t Coophanshûs" to the Martenastins to the Voorstraat. It is called since then: Museum Martena. Since July 2006 the museum has been open for public. The collectie has been dedicated to among other things the town history, the Franeker academy and Anna Maria van Schurman.<br />

Franeker (Fries: Frjentsjer) is de hoofdplaats van de gemeente Franekeradeel, in de provincie Friesland (Nederland). De stad telt 12.996 inwoners (1 januari 2006) en is één van de Friese elf steden. De stad maakt sinds 1 januari 1984 deel uit van de gemeente Franekeradeel.<br />

Museum Martena<br />
In oktober 2003 bleek het museum 't Coopmanshûs in Franeker in bezit van de oudste eikenhouten kast van Nederland. De tweedeurs archiefkast stamt uit circa 1550, en is gemaakt van eikenhout van voor 1550, dat afkomstig is uit de Baltische staten, zo bleek na dendrologisch onderzoek. In 2006 verhuisde museum "'t Coophanshûs" naar de Martenastins aan de Voorstraat. Het heet sindsdien: Museum Martena. Sinds juli 2006 is het museum weer open voor het publiek. De vaste collectie is gewijd aan o.a. de stadsgeschiedenis, de Franeker Academie en Anna Maria van Schurman.
